Back in the Saddle

Come easy, go easy
All right until the rising sun
Im calling all the shots tonight
Im like a loaded gun
Peelin off my boots and chaps
Im saddle sore
Four bits gets you time in the racks
I scream for more
Fools gold out of their mines
The girls are soaking wet
Not tounges drier than mine
Ill come when I get back

Aerosmith, Back in the Saddle
So my son has come and gone for his summer visit. It was really fabulous having him here for half a month and we got to go and do a variety of interesting things. From hiking and playing in the river to a large scale Music Festival. And best of all, we got to just hang out and be chill. Sometimes, that’s exactly what we need more than anything else.

And now my vacation has come and gone as well. Also, fabulous. The best weekend I have had in a very, very long time. Simple pleasures: good company, good conversation, beautiful country and honest smiles.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be getting back into the groove of eros. Stories from the visit and the road. More ideas on rewilding and sustainability, philosophical bits brought out by conversations this last month, the (currently) final chapter in my story, and, most importantly of all, a change in focus for the blog. Eros has been getting most of the attention here in recent months, so I will be turning more and more to thoughts on agape, thoughts on philia, and the connections between all three.

Stay Tuned 🙂
